Behar/Bechukotai – Torah In Haiku

Behar

The faithful are blessed …
The faithless suffer curses …
But still, forgiveness —
Bechukotai begins with blessings (Leviticus 26:3-9):
“If you follow My laws and faithfully observe My commandments … I will look with favor upon you … and I will maintain My covenant with you … “

Then warns of curses (Leviticus 26:14-16):
“If you do not obey … if you reject My laws … I will wreak misery upon you … “

But ultimately, promises forgiveness (Leviticus 26:44-45):
“Yet even then … I will remember in their favor the covenant with the ancients … “
